The third and final piece of danish dough went to String Danish. Now, this is what most people think of when they think danish.
It starts...with a piece of dough.
Rolled out to 20 inches, half of it gets brushed with melted butter
After being sprinkled with liberal amounts of cinnamon and sugar, the dough gets folded in half and chilled
When it's nice and cold, it gets cut into strips
and twisted like breadsticks
Now, since we made small, individual danishes, we got to make whatever shape we wanted instead of just big round ones. Each strip got to do something a little different. Here are some of the ones I did.
A curly S
Cute little swirlys and a little cup
Some kind of twisted knot things that I made up
And a big X thing.....
They all got filled with cream cheese filling and baked...mmm
The finished product gets drizzled with glaze and eaten
*omnomnomnomnom*
Well, that will do it for danishes! We're off school on Monday...so Tuesday we're making things with puff pastry and I'll finish my croissants. :-)
Oh, by the way...
Celeste says *HI* :-)
